We all live in a society in which food is " fast food" and everything we eat pretty much is available in cans and frozen bags that are full of preservatives and other chemically improved fillers for making it seem " fresh". As a culture we have come to a level where we do not have enough the perfect time to cook our food and so we decide to either carry out fast food or canned foodstuff; essentially we all spent ridiculous amount of time within our " youth" making money for retirement yet we sacrifice our health by consuming essentially trash. Come pension time we are sick and tired, right now we put in all our hard earned cash spending it on doctor visits and medications.
When we moved to the United States coming from America, i was thrilled, the only thing we noticed was a little hard was that the food we have here was either packed with preservatives or perhaps not new. In Arab saudi where all of us grew up the meals was new, the develop was regionally picked and you simply knew the farmers that brought in the meals to the supermarkets. The chicken and meat too was fresh, you have to the market pick one and they will slaughter and prepare it to suit your needs.
Over time of living here in the states mother and father decided to do their own plant gardening to create the vegetables that they in most cases use in all their daily meals. The idea of growing their own food because they wanted to consume locally and organically, plus they could spend less in the long term seemed fantastic and so now we have an extremely healthy back garden with the necessities for our day to day use.
Now with the government shutdown and the economy back in the flagg. People are researching ways to squeeze their budget and minimize consumption in general, not just with the pump; though the gas rates seem to be falling. The cost of everything seems to be rising these days, especially at the supermarkets, a trip you can not simply neglect. By growing your own food...
